The Regional Convening in Support of Parents in the Eastern Mediterranean, Middle East, and North Africa Region took place from 8-10 August 2023. The convening brought together stakeholders to advocate for the social, mental, and physical wellbeing of parents and caregivers and examine the implementation of evidence-based policies and interventions in the region. The convening was organized by GISP partners and the Arab Network for Early Childhood.
The convening included presentations on evidence-based initiatives around nurturing care, support parents of adolescents and adolescent parents, supporting parents of children with disabilities, promoting mental health and wellbeing, preventing child maltreatment and violence against children, integrating gender-responsive approaches, promoting community development, supporting parents across diverse contexts (including those living in humanitarian settings), the use of digital spaces, and cross-sectoral action.
