GISP SOCIAL MEDIA TOOLKIT
ON GLOBAL PARENTING
(June-December 2023)

During Global Parenting Month and beyond, partners working in the space of parent and caregiver support regardless of sector are encouraged to share this toolkit with their networks and use it to:

  • Amplify key messages on universal parent and caregiver support through shared social media activities during the Global Parenting Month and beyond.
  • Mobilize social media activity and generate conversations around the importance of investing in parenting and caregiving interventions.
  • Elevate the value of evidence-based universal parent and caregiver support interventions.
  • Generate momentum for the GISP website launch in late June, as a resource for those working in the universal parent and caregiver support movement.

The Global Initiative to Support Parents (GISP) is a global platform that aims to bridge sectors and partners to build momentum towards universal support for parents and caregivers during the first two decades of life and across the life course. The initiative was started by UNICEF, the World Health Organization (WHO), Parenting for Lifelong Health at the University of Oxford, the Early Childhood Development Action Network (ECDAN), and the Global Partnership to End Violence Against Children. GISP works with governments, civil society partners, researchers and donors to promote universal access to support for all parents and caregivers that want or need it.

This toolkit provides ideas and messaging to help mobilize the global parenting support movement across sectors and promote GISP’s new global online platform to be launched in late June. It identifies specific themes throughout the year to highlight partners’ work to increase access to and investment in evidence-based parent and caregiver support. Partners are encouraged to use this toolkit to complement their respective messaging on global parent and caregiver support. This toolkit is a living document that will be updated with additional messaging as is relevant.
