Global Initiative to Support Parents (GISP) presents on regional parenting support at ARNEC 2024

July 5 2024 – The Global Initiative to Support Parents (GISP) attended the Asia Regional Network for Early Childhood (ARNEC) conference in Penang, Malaysia, from May 27 to 30, 2024, where they convened a session with parenting partners.

Throughout the conference, GISP engaged delegates by distributing postcards for them to share insights and experiences regarding parenting support in their respective countries. These postcards will form part of a traveling exhibition, showcasing global voices in parenting support. Additionally, GISP featured an interactive wall where delegates could contribute their thoughts on their country’s progress and opportunities in supporting parents.

Several partners, including Dr. Jamie Lachman from Parenting for Lifelong Health bolstered GISP’s efforts. Dr. Lachman moderated a panel discussion on parenting and innovation, which attracted over 100 participants. He also facilitated a network meeting with 85 implementers, researchers, and policymakers to discuss supporting universal access to evidence-based parenting programs in the region.

GISP extends heartfelt thanks to the many partners who supported advocacy and awareness-raising efforts in the region, making the conference a resounding success in fostering global collaboration for parenting support.
